Whether you're competing competitively or hanging out with your weekly friends golf should be fun. I want golfers to understand the golf swing, but to put it in terms of what they've done before in relation to other sports to help them understand those fundamentals. I interview each player prior to their first lesson to understand what they want out of the lesson, their commitment level, and develop an understanding of any previous injuries to help tailor the lesson plan. I strongly encourage younger kids to play multiple sports as it teaches them finer motor skills that will transfer to golf. With adults, I believe in using what they already have (unless they're a straight beginner) to help build a swing process that doesn't try to completely overhaul 20+ years of old habits. When it comes to practice I believe perfect practice makes perfect. That doesn't mean you need to practice every day for 8 hours a day, but it does mean teaching students to take their time to really learn those skills whether that is 10-minute exercises they do at home or a half hour practice session on the range a couple times a week.

Seems fun to note that I'm a left-handed player. I started playing golf when I was 3 years old, and grew up in Alexandria, Louisiana playing with all the boys. There were so few girls that played golf in my area that I played on the boy's golf team in high school. Growing up I also played basketball, soccer, and softball. I attribute playing multiple sports to my ability to quickly learn new skills throughout my childhood. I went on to play for four years at Texas A&M University - Commerce from 2010-2014, where I earned my Master's Degree in Sport and Recreation Management in 2016. In 2016, I started as an Assistant Professional at Horseshoe Bay Resort in Horseshoe Bay, Texas and worked to earn my PGA Class A Membership in January 2020. In 2018, I was promoted to the Tournament Coordinator where I manage and run 300+ tournaments a year including outside resort groups, Women's Golf Association, and Club Events for our four golf courses. I have plans to earn my LPGA certification as well as work towards specializing in a few areas of the PGA.
